Abstract

One way of serving the community can be implemented in student mentoring and community service activities. Community service activities which are lecturer and student activity programs in the context of student propaganda and service to Early Childhood Education teachers in 20 schools of Early Childhood Education in the city of Surabaya and Bangkalan Regency. The purpose of this service is to provide students with an initial overview of community service activities which are part of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The method used in this service is the Participatory Action Research method, where the author is directly involved in its implementation. The result is assistance in creating an IEP (Individualized Educational Program), namely a curriculum for children with special needs and student service which is carried out in the form of: seminars, workshops and field visits to educational institutions at Early Childhood Education level. The assistance of Early Childhood Education teachers and student service in 20 schools of Early Childhood Education in the Pakal sub-district can increase students' knowledge and experience in the field of making IEP curriculum for children with special needs within the framework of direct field visits to 20 schools of Early Childhood Education. Apart from that, it also motivates students to have a greater social role in the future. This can be seen from the increasing motivation of students after completing the mentoring and student service activities.
